Iconic music star Mariah Carey was in high spirits as she celebrated winning her first BET Award on Monday night, embracing her “iconicness” and feeling “obsessed” with herself.
In her enthusiastic acceptance speech for the ‘Ultimate Icon Award’ at the 2025 ceremony, she shared an uplifting message: “Don’t let anyone dull your shine.”
Mariah reflected that “it took me some time, but I finally understood that life is too short to seek approval from others, which is something I often did.
“So, I chose to embrace who I am—my uniqueness, my fabulousness, my success, and yes, my iconicness.”

Dressed in a shimmering metallic gold minidress, accessorized with sparkling hoop earrings and stacked bracelets, she showcased her true diva essence, reminding everyone why she is such an iconic figure.
