Manchester United has come to a preliminary agreement to appoint Michael Carrick as their interim manager.
Carrick is expected to take charge until the end of the season, following discussions and approvals with the club.

On January 7, Manchester United began initial talks with former players Michael Carrick, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Darren Fletcher regarding the caretaker manager position for the rest of the season.
These discussions were prompted by the unexpected firing of Ruben Amorim on January 6, which concluded a 14-month tenure that yielded mixed results for the Red Devils.
