A tragic incident unfolded in Lagos on Monday evening as a yet-to-be-identified man was fatally struck by a moving train in the Mushin area. The horrific accident occurred around 6 pm while the victim was reportedly walking along the Cappa railway tracks.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident in a statement released by its spokesperson, Nosa Okunbor. According to the statement, the man sustained severe injuries from the collision and was declared dead at the scene.

“In response to a distress call about a train accident along the railway line opposite the LASEMA Response Base in Cappa around 6 pm, the Agency activated its Eagle Response Team,” the statement read. “Upon arrival, an adult male walking along the railway track was found dead after being hit by an oncoming train. The impact of the collision caused instant death.”
Further investigations revealed that the victim, who was only partially dressed, was walking along the tracks when the train struck him, leading to his death.
LASEMA’s response team quickly moved to secure the scene, bagging the remains of the deceased while awaiting the arrival of officials from the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit for transport to the morgue.
