A young man, Smart Daniel, has been arrested and detained by police in Agbor, Delta State, for allegedly stabbing a sex worker during a heated dispute over payment after multiple sexual encounters.
The incident occurred at a brothel along the Benin/Asaba Expressway, following Daniel’s refusal to pay the agreed fee, claiming the sex worker had prevented him from ejaculating during their third round of intercourse.
The arrest was confirmed by the Agbor Police Division after responding to a distress call from concerned residents. Police authorities said that officers were dispatched to the scene, where they found the victim, whose identity has not been revealed, lying in a pool of blood. Meanwhile, the suspect was nearly lynched by an enraged mob before police intervention.
According to eyewitness accounts, the altercation began when Daniel, described as a regular customer at the brothel known as Apple Inn, refused to pay the full amount for the services provided.

His refusal stemmed from his claim that the sex worker had denied him satisfaction during their last round. The victim, however, argued that Daniel had been rough with her and demanded full payment.
As the dispute escalated, Daniel allegedly grabbed a knife, reportedly from the sex worker’s kitchen, and stabbed her.
Witnesses said he dragged the knife downward, leaving the victim with severe injuries. Horrified by the scene, onlookers attempted to take matters into their own hands before police arrived.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Central Hospital in Agbor for medical attention, but due to the severity of her injuries, she was transferred to the Federal Medical Center in Asaba. Medical personnel report that her condition is critical, and she remains under close observation.
Police authorities have assured the public that they are conducting a thorough investigation and will ensure justice is served. The Division’s senior officer, who confirmed the arrest, stated that all efforts are being made to ensure the suspect faces the full consequences of his actions.
