The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hajiya Hadiza Adamu Baba, wife of the Ona of Abaji, Adamu Yunusa.
In a condolence message she personally signed, and addressed to the traditional ruler and released on Monday by her Special Assistant on Media, Austine Elemue, the FCT minister of state, described the loss as “irreplaceable” and prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased.
“On behalf of the Federal Capital Territory Administration and my family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to your royal majesty, the royal family, and the entire people of Abaji,” Mahmoud said.
She further honoured the late queen for her virtues of compassion and dignity, noting her steadfast support for the traditional throne of Abaji.

“The death of a wife is an irreplaceable loss, and I can only imagine the pain and grief that this sad occurrence has brought upon you.
“Her legacy of compassion, dignity, and support to the throne will forever be remembered,” she added.
Mahmoud prayed for the repose of the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to grant her Aljannah Firdaus, while also praying for strength for the royal family to bear the loss.
The Ona of Abaji is one of the first-class chiefs in the FCT.
His late wife, Hajiya Hadiza Baba, was widely regarded as a quiet but strong pillar of support to the palace and the Abaji community.
The minister pledged her “unwavering support” to the monarch and the Abaji Emirate Council during this period of mourning.
