Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku is almost close to a return to Inter Milan following heartwarming discussions between the Blues and Nerazzurri.
The Belgian striker joined the Blues at a club-record fee of €115m last season after sensational performances in Italy but was a shadow of himself in the 2021-22 season at Chelsea.
With a paltry sum of 6 goals in 26 Premier League appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side, resulting in the club’s drop in form where they finished without a silverware, the 29-year-old is eager to return to where he broke into the spotlight as one of Europe’s top strikers.
According to emerging reports from Italy, Chelsea will welcome a loan move for the Belgian to return to Italy and are asking between €10 – €15m which is far above the initial €5m offer for the striker.

La Gazzetta dello Sport said that the discussions between both clubs are favourable and an agreement will certainly be reached in the coming weeks.
Lukaku is eager to return and would be ready to take a pay cut from his about €350,000-a-week salary to help Nerazzuri facilitate the deal should the need arises.
More so, Thomas Tuchel is not opposed to the loan deal for the player and was reported to have convinced Chelsea’s new CEO Todd Boehly to give his approval to the deal.
