Ademola Lookman has attracted interest from several leading European clubs, including Inter Milan, all eager to enhance their squads with his addition.
The Atalanta forward has reportedly decided to join Inter Milan this summer, despite the Serie A club’s offer being significantly lower than his estimated worth.
As per Sportitalia via FCInterNews, Lookman has expressed his intention to sign with the Nerazzurri, even though discussions between the two clubs are currently stalled.
Inter’s initial €40 million proposal does not align with Atalanta’s €50 million valuation for the Nigerian international, who recently made headlines with a historic hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
However, the 27-year-old’s eagerness to make the switch could facilitate progress in negotiations in the coming days.
Lookman’s transfer situation has generated considerable discussion among Nigerian football figures.
Former U17 World Cup champion Sambo Choji believes that moving to Inter is a positive step for Lookman at this point in his career.
“He has remained professional and put in his best effort, but I think it’s time for him to take on a new challenge.

Inter is a prestigious club with players who can help him reach his full potential. I sincerely hope the transfer happens—it would be advantageous for him both financially and in his football career,” Choji stated.
The transfer has also ignited discussions off the field, particularly concerning the undervaluation of African players.
Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck criticized the offer, stating, “€40 million for Africa’s best player? Not on my watch.”
Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba condemned the bid, arguing that Nigerian players are “grossly underpaid in Europe because they fail to recognize their own value.”
There have been no further updates from either the club or the player’s representatives regarding the transfer, but attention will remain focused on both sides as the summer transfer window heats up.
