Liverpool FC has finalised an initial fee of £69 million for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
The 23-year-old French player is anticipated to arrive in the UK on Tuesday for a medical examination.
Frankfurt has accepted a total deal worth £79 million, which includes £69 million guaranteed and an additional £10 million in performance-related bonuses.
Ekitike is expected to sign a six-year contract and will join Liverpool’s Asia tour later this week.
Newcastle recently had a £70 million offer for Ekitike turned down, while Liverpool has also expressed interest in Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
