The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, Comrade Warri Ovoke Friday, has officially presented a proposed budget of N14.1 billion for the 2025 fiscal year. Dubbed the “Isoko South for Your Worries Budget,” this significant financial plan reflects a strategic push to address key challenges within the local government and promote economic growth.

This budget marks an increase from last year’s allocation and aligns with Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. agenda, designed to boost the state’s economy and enhance productivity in rural areas. According to Ovoke, the 2025 financial blueprint integrates the Council’s 2025-2026 Rolling Plan, prioritizing infrastructural development, food security, job creation, infrastructure rehabilitation, and quality education.

While presenting the budget at the Council headquarters in Oleh, Ovoke emphasized the transformative vision behind the financial plan. “We have named it the Isoko South for Your Worries Budget because it is anchored on our firm resolve to address the concerns of our people. This budget will unlock the economic corridors and harness the vast potentials of our local government,” he stated.

The proposed budget allocates funds to cover personal emoluments, overhead costs, and capital expenditures. Key capital projects include constructing a new administrative structure, advancing rural community development, and upgrading transportation infrastructure. These initiatives aim to transform Isoko South into a hub of economic and social progress despite ongoing economic challenges.

The Leader of the Isoko South Legislative Council, Bright Olokor, expressed support for the proposed budget, praising the chairman’s dedication to leadership and progress. “We are committed to supporting you in implementing the 2025 budget. Your selfless leadership has brought significant improvements to Isoko South, and we are confident this budget will further enhance the fortunes of our people,” Olokor remarked.

As deliberations on the budget commence,The Trumpet Newspaper will report a deep analysis of its composition. As at the time of filing this report the full details about capital and recurrent expenditure are still unknown.
