The Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Glory Effiong, has announced plans to host a mega empowerment programme to mark first anniversary celebration
The empowerment event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, at the council secretariat ground, Upenekang, by 10am, according to a statement she issued in Uyo on Monday.
The programme is aimed at enhancing livelihoods and deepening the impact of governance at the grassroots
“To further empower our people at the grassroots and extend the blessings of the ARISE Agenda, we have put together a robust empowerment package that targets various sectors including; transportation, education, marine, small businesses and vocational skills.
“This is also our way of celebrating one year of purposeful leadership,” she stated.
The initiative, according to her, is in line with the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno’s administration and reflects her commitment to inclusive development.
She disclosed that beneficiaries of the scheme will receive items such as four engine boats (25HP each), six tricycles, comprising four pickup-type models and two conventional ones, as part of efforts to enhance mobility and improve economic activities.
Other items include five electric grinders, five hair dryers, five units of 2.5kVA generators, and five sewing machines, all aimed at supporting skill acquisition and small-scale enterprises.
