The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Hon. Charles Wobodo, has banned the operations of commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada in Igwuruta, one of the densely populated towns in the Local Government.
He said the development is due to incessant security challenges in the area, adding that the ban takes effect from tomorrow, Thursday the 12th of February, 2026, from 6pm to 6am for a period of one month.

Apart from his empowerment programs for the youths in the area, he is also embarking on aggressive rural electrification to connect communities to the national grid to boost the local economy and enhance the people’s standard of living.
