The army says the level of insecurity in Taraba State has improved as incidents of kidnapping, banditry, gun running, and communal clashes has reduced significantly.
Commander of the 6 Brigade, and Sector 3, of ‘Operation Whirl Stroke,’ Brig. Gen. Kingsley Uwa said this on Tuesday, while receiving participants of the Strategic Management and Policy Studies Course 7/2025 from the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), who were on a study tour of the state.
He credited the success to the unwavering efforts of his troops, commending their dedication, and operational efficiency in restoring peace and stability.
During his address, the brigade commander outlined key achievements over the past year, highlighting the effectiveness of both kinetic, and non-kinetic military strategies in combating insecurity.
He also displayed a cache of arms, and ammunition recovered during various operations, reinforcing the military’s commitment to eliminating criminal activities in the region.

Gen. Uwa reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s dedication to sustaining security and stability in Taraba through continuous strategic and operational measures.
Responding, Maj. Gen. Dahiru Sanusi, who represented the Director General of the NARC, Maj. Gen. Garba Wahab (rtd), expressed appreciation for the warm reception.
He emphasized the relevance of the study tour in bridging the gap between theoretical military training, and practical security operations, particularly in assessing the impact of military interventions on small and medium-sized communities.
