Former Juventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon has renewed his contract with Italian Serie B club, Parma to 2024.
Buffon described the extension as a welcome development and stated that he has a lot to offer to the club.
He ascribes the new development to his relationship with the management of the club and the deep bond he has with the city and its people.
According to him, Parma’s President and the new company have the foresight to develop the club and this has spurred him into putting his best to ensure the club achieve success.
The elated Buffon hopes the people of Palma are as happy as his family who were with him to witness the contractual agreement.

The legendary goalkeeper in a statement on his official Facebook handle said, “Today is a good day for me and my whole family: I renewed my contract until 2024 to Parma. A few months ago I came back here for the deep bond I always had with the city and people. Now this bond is even stronger.
“I believed from the moment away in the project of the president and of this new company, for this reason, I was convinced that I could give mycontribution and I want to continue to give it for the coming years.
“I hope the fans and the city are happy as my kids are. Today all four of them were with me: thanks to them, but especially to Ilaria, I never feel the weight of age. Only good energy, fresh energy, positive energy, and beautiful dreams to realise together,” he added.
The contract extension will see Buffon playing active football until the age of 46.
Buffon, who has enjoyed 27 years playing active football to date and won 176 senior caps for his country, is regarded as one of football’s greats.
