In continuation of the ongoing rehabilitation works at Iyana-Era road on the Badagry Expressway, the Lagos State Government has announced plans to divert traffic as it begins construction of the Ilogbo Waterside
Bridge from February 23, 2022.

Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, who disclosed that the project will last four months, restated that the construction was pertinent to address the rapid and frequent deterioration of sections of the road, hence the need for a bridge.

He explained that motorists heading towards Iyana-Era from the Lagos-Badagry Expressway could use Afromedia road through the Iyana-Era intersection, as Afromedia Road could accommodate inbound and outbound traffic.

He said alternately, motorists could also access Ajangbadi Ilogbo/Shibiri road through the Alaba International Market to link Olojo Drive and connect Lagos Badagry Expressway, adding that the route will also accommodate traffic going in and out of the Ilogbo Waterside Bridge diversion point.

Oladeinde further stated that the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) would be on ground to direct traffic in addition to traffic guides, which would be strategically placed to guide vehicular movement during the period.

While seeking residents’ cooperation for the successful commencement and completion of the project, the state government stressed its commitment towards the development of transport infrastructure in the metropolis.

He also maintained that it is vital for the Multi-modal transportation system of the state government, which will in turn boost the economic prowess of the citizens.
