Veteran Nollywood actor Fatai Adekunle Adetayo, popularly known as Lalude, has expressed deep disappointment and frustration with Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, accusing him of failing to fulfill his financial promises made to entertainers who supported President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during the controversial 2023 general elections.
In a candid conversation on a recent episode of the Beyond the Fame podcast, Lalude revealed the unkept promises, stating that MC Oluomo had pledged N1.5 million each to him and his fellow entertainers in return for their support and active participation in the election campaigns. However, Lalude claims no payments have been made to date, despite their dedicated efforts.
The actor, renowned for his roles portraying traditional priest characters in Yoruba films, described the grueling nature of the campaign, which spanned over seven weeks without proper compensation. While the group initially received N10,000 daily for feeding, that allowance was abruptly discontinued, leaving them to fend for themselves during the campaign.

“We trekked long distances every day while MC Oluomo cruised in the comfort of his car. In the end, we felt completely abandoned,” Lalude lamented. He further expressed his frustration, recounting how both he and his colleague, Ganiu ‘Alapini’ Nafiu, were left empty-handed after fulfilling their part of the agreement. “We completed our assignments, and yet, we received not a single kobo for our efforts. MC Oluomo reached out to us, promising substantial compensation, but now we have received nothing,” he said bitterly.
Lalude didn’t hold back in voicing his thoughts on the future, warning those who orchestrated these unmet promises: “Those who are orchestrating these misdeeds will face consequences; they will not prosper. I am certain they will come back to us in 2027, and we will be here waiting for them.”
This revelation comes just days after veteran actors Ganiu Nafiu (Alapini) and Buk Adekogbe Raji (Aminatu Papapa) echoed similar sentiments, expressing regret over their decision to back Tinubu in the 2023 elections. Their grievances have sparked growing dissatisfaction among entertainers who, after playing vital roles in political campaigns, feel sidelined and undervalued once the elections have ended.
