A Lagos school teacher has been arrested after a viral video showed her repeatedly slapping a young student, sparking widespread outrage on social media.
The teacher, identified as Stella Nwadigo, was seen in the video instructing a three-year-old boy, Abayomi Michael, to write the number “six.” When the boy struggled with the task, she slapped him forcefully across the face.
Despite the boy’s continued difficulty, the teacher slapped him a total of four times, each as harsh as the first.

The incident reportedly took place at Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, Lagos State. Following public outcry, law enforcement intervened, and the teacher was taken into custody for questioning.
The arrest has further fueled discussions about corporal punishment in schools and the urgent need for stricter measures to protect children from abuse in educational settings. Authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing.
