The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has intensified its efforts to combat noise pollution and other environmental violations by sealing several establishments throughout the state.
This action, communicated through an X post by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency on December 20, targets locations known for disturbing public health and safety, especially in Surulere and Ikoyi.
“The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has stepped up its enforcement efforts, sealing multiple establishments across various locations in the state.
“Persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations that constituted major threats to public health and safety prompted this action.
“The affected areas include Akerele, Ayilara, Eric Moore, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Lawanson, Ijeshatedo, and Aguda, all within Surulere, Ojota, as well as Femi Okunu Road and Milverton Road in Ikoyi.

“Among the establishments sealed during the operation are Suya Spot, Club Crash, Tea & Coffee Spot and Salt of Life Prayer Ministry. Other affected properties include Esteem Royal Hotels, Paragon Hotels, Cord Hotels & Suites Limited, House 36, Admax Hotel, C.C. Uche Aluminum Company, a construction site, Bakery and Milestone Apartment,” the post reads in part.
General Manager of the agency, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the agency’s commitment to maintaining the environment and the health of residents.
He restated that the enforcement emphasises on a zero-tolerance approach for infractions and called on individuals and business owners to abide by environmental laws in order to create a more sustainable Lagos.
This recent crackdown follows a similar enforcement action taken on December 16.
