The Lagos State government has announced temporary traffic diversions across key parts of the state ahead of project commissioning events scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said the partial road closures are aimed at ensuring safety and smooth coordination of the ceremonies.
He urged motorists to plan their journeys ahead and avoid affected routes to minimise delays.
Osiyemi disclosed that the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge will be inaugurated on Wednesday, April 8, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and this is expected to impact traffic around Opebi-Allen, Ikeja, and Ojota corridors.
Motorists were advised to use alternative routes during the period to avoid congestion.
On Thursday, April 9, two separate events will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., including the commissioning of the Tolu Schools Complex.

Traffic is likely to be affected in the Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle areas, with road users encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes.
Later that day, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., another event will be held around Eko Hotel & Suites and parts of Victoria Island, where motorists should expect delays or avoid the area if possible.
The statement added that officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and other enforcement agencies will be on ground to manage traffic flow and assist commuters.
