The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is poised for a major overhaul, as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Sam Ogbuku, has embraced the KPMG Governance Advisory Report as a transformative blueprint for administrative excellence. During a meeting with a KPMG delegation at the Commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, Dr. Ogbuku emphasized the significance of the report in steering the NDDC toward global best practices.
Dr. Ogbuku was joined by Hon. Alabo Boma Iyaye, Executive Director of Finance and Administration, and Ifedayo Abegunde, Executive Director of Corporate Services, to discuss the far-reaching implications of the advisory document. The Managing Director described the report as a cornerstone for the Commission’s shift from a transactional approach to a transformative policy framework.

In his remarks, Dr. Ogbuku stated, “Once adopted by the board, this report will serve as a strategic guide. It will be a policy statement that every directorate and department within the NDDC can implement. I assure you that we will strictly adhere to it during the implementation phase. This document comes at the perfect time, as the NDDC now operates with a functional budget.”
The KPMG report is expected to redefine the NDDC’s internal processes, focusing on accountability, transparency, and efficiency. Dr. Ogbuku expressed confidence that the governance structure outlined in the document will fortify the Commission, providing a robust framework for corporate governance culture and operational excellence.
