A member of the Ebonyi State Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), Mr Chijioke Nwuzor has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture to safeguard the lives of road users across all geopolitical zones of the country.

Nwuzor made the appeal while speaking with journalists at his residence in Abakaliki, during an event he organised to appreciate God for his safe return following his abduction while travelling from Abuja to Ebonyi State on October 21, 2025.

He disclosed that he spent six days in captivity after being abducted along the Alioma–Ejule axis in Kogi State, noting that his rescue was made possible through the swift intervention of the Ebonyi State government.

Recounting the experience, Nwuzor described insecurity as one of Nigeria’s most pressing challenges, stressing that it must be decisively addressed for the safety and well-being of citizens.

He lamented that many Nigerians now live in constant fear, adding that criminal elements are not beyond the reach of government if tackled with determination and intelligence-driven strategies.
