Plans to conduct local government councils election in Kebbi state, is said to have been concluded by the State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC).
Announcing the date of the elections, the KESIEC, chairman, Aliyu Muhammed Mera, said both the chairmen and the councilors elections will hold on August 31, 2024.
Candidates and political parties, as made known by him, are free to obtain nomination forms, contacts, and other necessary documents from the commission’s secretariat, which is located at No. 4 Jalingo Crescent, G.R.A., Birnin Kebbi.
This early notification, according to him, is intended to give political parties, stakeholders, and the general public ample time to prepare for the upcoming elections.

Emphasizing the commission’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible election, he called for the support and cooperation of all stakeholders and the public to ensure the success of the electoral process.
Spokespersons of the various political parties who sports with our correspondent, expressed their political parties interests to participate in the exercise.
They however beckoned at the election umpire to tread extra legitimate miles to provide a level playground for all the candidates irrespective of their political parties differences.
