The Katsina State Hisbah Board has dismissed allegations made by Hauwa’u Lawal, who claimed she was assaulted by its personnel.
At a news conference held in Katsina on Sunday, the Deputy Commander General of Operations, Malam Mohammad Shu’aibu, clarified that Hauwa’u accused the operatives of beating her, resulting in her sustaining a fractured leg and hearing impairment.
Also, he said Hauwa’u reported that the incident occurred during a visit to her brother, who was in the board’s custody.
Shu’aibu revealed that Hauwa’u’s brother had been arrested for interfering with the board’s operations and impersonating a soldier.
According to him, Hauwa’u was denied entry due to her inappropriate dressing and attempted to slap a Hisbah board member.
