The Secretary to the Kano State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, alongside the Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, and the Chairman of the Payroll Standing Committee, Alhaji Auwalu Umar Sanda, have commenced an inspection of salary validation centers across the state to enhance transparency and accountability in salary administration in the state civil service.
The exercise is designed to verify staff records, eliminate payroll discrepancies, and ensure only duly recognized employees receive salaries.
During the tour, the SSG said, the validation process is critical to ensuring a transparent and accountable payroll system which will help in identifying irregularities and prevent financial leakages.

He also assured the civil servants of receiving their salaries before the forthcoming Sallah celebration, provided they participated in the verification exercise, emphasizing that the salary-related challenges experience recently had been effectively addressed.
Similarly, the Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Musa, emphasized that the exercise would enhance workforce management.
“Proper salary administration is a fundamental aspect of good governance. This verification ensures that civil servants are accurately captured in the system, allowing for prompt and rightful salary payments,” he said.
Speaking to journalists, employees who were met undergoing the verification process, expressed their support for the initiative, saying it would promote fairness and efficiency in salary payments.
