The Kano State Commissioner for the newly created Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services, Maj. Gen Muhammad Inuwa (rtd) has resigned.
Maj. Gen Inuwa (rtd) is the second member of the Kano State Executive Council who has tendered his resignation in 2025.
Before him, the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation. Mohammed Diggol, had resigned earlier in the year.
Although details of why he resigned haven’t been made public, Governor Abba Yusuf, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, accepted the resignation and expressed deep gratitude to him for his contributions to the initial take-off of the new ministry.

The governor extended his best wishes to the former commissioner, describing him as a dedicated public servant and a patriotic Nigerian, who has laid a solid foundation for the ministry that his successor can build upon.
“We thank Maj. Gen. Muhammad Idris (rtd) for his unwavering commitment and contributions to the development of Kano State right from his days in the military career.
“We wish him a peaceful and fulfilling retirement as he transitions into a well-deserved rest from public service,” the governor said.
Maj. Gen. Inuwa (rtd) was appointed and sworn-in as pioneer commissioner for the ministry in August 2024.
