Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has donated 78 state-of-the-art operational vehicles to the Kano State Police Command. The initiative, announced through the governor’s spokesperson Sunusi Bature, shows Yusuf’s commitment to tackling insecurity and ensuring the safety of Kano’s residents.
According to Governor Yusuf, the donation aligns with his administration’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property. “Protecting our communities is the fundamental responsibility of any government. We will continue to work closely with all security agencies to provide a secure environment for all Kano residents,” Yusuf stated.
The donation includes 44 vehicles designated for Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in all local government areas, along with 34 Sharon cars equipped with advanced surveillance tools for rapid response operations. This bolstered fleet is expected to significantly improve the police force’s ability to respond to emergencies and prevent crime across the state.

During the handover ceremony, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone I, praised Governor Yusuf’s proactive approach, emphasizing the importance of using the vehicles exclusively for official duties. “This support from the governor sets a standard, and we hope other organizations and individuals will follow suit in supporting security efforts across Nigeria,” he said.
Kano State Police Commissioner Salman Dogu Garba, representing the Inspector General of Police, expressed his gratitude for the governor’s contribution. He noted that the new vehicles would play a critical role in enhancing security operations and ensuring a safer Kano for all residents.
