The Kano State state House of Assembly has passed the Kano State Land Scaping and Beautification Agency Bill, 2025, into law.
The bill was considered in the Committee of the Whole House and was read.the third time by the Deputy Clerk of the House, Alhaji Nasiru Magaji, and later passed into law by the Speaker, Ismail Falgore, who presided over the plenary on Monday.
Highlighting some of the agency’s responsibilities, the Majority Leader of the House, Lawan Husseini, told journalists that, the agency would ensure setting up of gardens for relaxation, planting of flowers and prevent indiscriminate dumping of refuse on roundabouts, drainages, bridges and roads within the state metropolis and headquarters of all local government areas.
He also added that, the agency will also prevent the indiscriminate throwing of trash and spits from moving vehicles, checkmate open defecation and also make the city look beautiful, among others.

The majority leader added that when signed into law by the governor, the law provides that a culprit shall be fined not more N25, 000 or as prescribed by a judge.
“The agency will be under a board comprising a chairman and 10 members including professionals, like architects who are knowledgeable of engineering and beautification,” Husseini noted.
Similarly the House also called on the state government to construct a road from Kwanar Masalachi-Giddan Kuka-yan Tipper-Badawa Layout in Nassarawa Local Government Area, following a motion moved by the member representing Nassarawa Constituency, Yusuf Aliyu.
The motion was seconded by the member representing Gabasawa Constituency, Zakariya Nuhu, highlighting the area’s large population and the need for a good road network to reduce road crashes and enhance livelihood in the areas.
