The Kano State House of Assembly has approved the appointment of AVM Ibrahim Umaru (rtd) as a commissioner and member of Kano State Executive Council.
AVM Umaru (rtd) appeared before the House for screening on Tuesday during plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Jibril Falgore.
When he appeared before the House, the nominee presented his biography, narrated his experiences, and responded to questions from legislators, after which his nomination was unanimously approved at the Committee of the Whole.

Meanwhile, the Majority Leader of the House, Lawan Husseini, commended the vast knowledge of the commissioner in the areas of security and said he was found to be fit to hold the position of commissioner.
Speaking to journalists, AVM Umaru (rtd) promised to utilise his vast experience and do his best in the new role that will be assigned to him.
Before his elevation to the new role, AVM Umaru (rtd) was the director-general, Directorate of Special Services, Government House, Kano.
