Kano State has approved the payment of N2 billion as compensation to communities affected by the Kabuga -Dayi federal road project in the state.
Commissioner for Special Duties, Nasiru Garo, said the affected communities are in Ungoggo, Rimin Gado, Tofa, Kabo, and Gwarzo Local government Areas, respectively.
While briefing members of the affected communities, the commissioner said the initiative demonstrates the state government’s commitment to ensuring fair treatment and support for its citizens, particularly those affected by the development project.
He said the compensation aims to provide relief and succour to the affected individuals and communities living in the area.

“The governor has since graciously approved and released over N2 billion for the compensation exercise to people from those five local government areas.
“The Kano State Government under the administration of Governor Abba Yusuf urges all eligible individuals who are yet to receive their payments to come forward with relevant documents to the ministry of land and physical planning for verification and payment of their compensation,” he stated.
Garo however, pointed out that adequate measures and strategies have been put in place to ensure a smooth and transparent payment process.
