kada Prince Boys and Diamond Spikers emerged champions at the 2026 President Beach Volleyball Cup, concluding a week of high level competition at the Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna State.
In the women’s final, Diamond Spikers delivered a composed performance to defeat Kogi Spikers in straight sets. The match ended 2–0, with a tight opening set of 23–21 followed by a dominant 21–12 finish in the second set. After edging a closely fought first set, Diamond Spikers raised their tempo and controlled the contest to seal the title.
The men’s final produced a dramatic turnaround as Kada Prince Boys overcame Philric in a three set encounter. Philric claimed the first set 21–16, but Kada Prince responded with a narrow 21–19 win in the second set to force a decider. In the final set, Kada Prince held their nerve to secure a 15–11 victory and lift the trophy.
Organised by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, the President Beach Volleyball Cup held from February 12 to 17, 2026, attracted teams from across the country. The tournament featured senior men’s and women’s categories alongside Under 17 boys’ and girls’ divisions, reflecting efforts to strengthen grassroots volleyball development while maintaining a pathway to elite competition.
The annual championship has become one of the Federation’s leading platforms for promoting beach volleyball in Nigeria. It is designed to widen participation, identify emerging talent, and prepare athletes for continental and international tournaments.
This year’s edition drew players, coaches, technical officials and stakeholders from various states, creating a vibrant sporting atmosphere in Kaduna. Beyond competition, the event also contributed to local tourism and heightened public interest in volleyball as a growing sport in Nigeria.
With sustained backing from clubs, schools, sponsors and the media, the 2026 President Beach Volleyball Cup reinforced the Federation’s drive to expand opportunities for young athletes and position Nigeria as a strong contender in African beach volleyball.
