Juventus ended their three-match winless streak with a solid 2-0 victory at Udinese in Serie A on Saturday, thanks to an own goal by Maduka Okoye and a goal from Nicolo Savona. This win keeps Juventus unbeaten in the league and propels them to third place in the standings with 21 points, tied with second-placed Inter and four points behind league leaders Napoli, both of whom have a game in hand.
From the outset, Juventus showcased their dominance, taking the lead in the 19th minute. Khephren Thuram’s powerful shot struck the far post and deflected off goalkeeper Okoye, resulting in an unfortunate own goal that put the visitors ahead.
The momentum continued as Savona doubled Juventus’ lead in the 37th minute, pouncing on a loose ball after Kenan Yildiz’s shot also rebounded off the post, slamming it home to solidify Juve’s control of the match.
While Udinese attempted to respond after halftime, they struggled to create significant threats. Their closest chance came late in the game when Lorenzo Lucca’s header hit the crossbar, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
This defeat leaves Udinese in seventh place with 16 points, just three points off the European qualification spots.

Juventus coach Thiago Motta praised his team’s performance, stating, “This is a team victory because we interpreted the match in the best way. In the first half, we could have played a bit more, as Udinese allowed us to build from the back. We moved the ball around well and created interesting situations, but we lacked depth, especially on the wings.”
Looking ahead, Juventus faces Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday before the highly anticipated Turin derby against city rivals Torino next Saturday. Motta emphasized the importance of enjoying this victory while preparing for the upcoming challenges: “Today we have to enjoy this important victory for us and recover in view of Tuesday when the Champions League returns. It will be very interesting to play against Lille. They have an extra day of recovery, so we will need to rest well to face this match effectively.”
With momentum on their side, Juventus is poised to build on this victory as they navigate their busy schedule in both domestic and European competitions.
