Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the appointment of Professor Sunny Awhefeada as the new vice-chancellor of Southern Delta University.
The announcement, made on Monday, confirms the distinguished academic and public intellectual as the chief executive of the state-owned university in Ozoro.
Until his elevation, Prof. Awhefeada was the dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at the Delta State University, where he earned recognition for promoting rigorous research culture and mentoring postgraduate scholars.
Beyond the classroom, he is well known in media and literary circles as a respected columnist and scholar, noted for his thoughtful analyses of national developments and socio-political trends.
