Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain in custody for the time being, as a judge has once again denied his request for bail, marking the second time this has happened while he awaits sentencing.
On Monday, Judge Arun Subramanian ruled against granting Diddy bail, siding with federal prosecutors and keeping him incarcerated at MDC Brooklyn as he prepares for his sentencing on October 3 for his conviction on multiple Mann Act charges.
In his ruling, the judge stated that there were no “exceptional reasons” justifying Diddy’s release before sentencing.
As previously reported, Diddy submitted a new bail motion last week, with his legal team arguing that he may be the only person in the U.S. incarcerated for hiring and transporting male sex workers across state lines for his girlfriend.
His defense contended that there is no legal precedent requiring his detention before sentencing, but the judge disagreed, noting that while Diddy’s attorneys might have a valid point regarding the Mann Act, the case also involved “evidence of violence, coercion, or subjugation related to the acts of prostitution.”

The judge also addressed the defense’s concerns about the conditions at MDC Brooklyn, stating that jail staff have managed to keep Diddy safe, “even during an incident of threatened violence from another inmate.”
Diddy proposed a bail package that included a $50 million bond, stating he would stay at his Miami home and limit his travel to Florida and New York if released.
However, the judge rejected this proposal.
Although the $50 million did not influence the judge’s decision on bail, he emphasized that this ruling would not affect his sentencing decision on October 3, which is only 60 days away.
Now, attention turns to President Trump, as sources indicate that he is “more than open” to pardoning Diddy and has been waiting to see the outcome of Diddy’s latest bail request.
