The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Imo State Chapter, Professor James Okoroma, has Challenged LEMA Theological Graduates to Assist the Party in the Fight to Rescue the Nation from Crumbling
The party said it proudly joined the Leadership Education Mission for Africa (LEMA) Theological Seminary in celebrating the graduation of its students at Ofekata Orodo in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state.
Okoroma, led a high-powered delegation of party leaders to the occasion, underscoring the party’s unwavering commitment to education, values, and community development.
The event was graced by prominent dignitaries including HRH Eze Engr. Marcel Uzoegbu, the Okata II of Ofekata Orodo, who brought royal honour to the ceremony. Dr. Chinedu Opurum, who served as Chairman of the Occasion, urged the graduating students to remain dedicated to service, stressing that their training should translate into moral and community impact.
In his welcome remarks, the President of LEMA Institute, Rev. Joshua Amaezechi, expressed profound joy, describing the day as a sacred moment of transition for the graduates.
“Today marks not just the end of an academic journey, but the beginning of a lifelong mission to serve God and humanity,” he stated, commending the students for their resilience and dedication to theological and leadership training.
Delivering his goodwill address, Professor Okoroma congratulated the graduates for their perseverance and charged them to live as true ambassadors of Christ by leading exemplary lives.
He emphasized the vital role of spiritual and moral education in addressing the challenges facing society. “As ambassadors of Christ, you must lead by example and be the light that society follows.
“You have been equipped spiritually, mentally, and physically, and we expect you to demonstrate this in ways that uplift mankind. Beyond personal achievement, your calling is a service to the greater good,” Prof. Okoroma declared.

Okoroma further highlighted history’s testament to theologians’ role in rescuing falling nations and called on the graduates to join hands with the ADC in the fight to rescue the nation from crumbling.
The ADC Chairman reiterated the party’s commitment to education, describing it as a cornerstone for building a just and progressive society. “The African Democratic Congress believes education is the foundation for transformation.
“This is why it remains at the top of our policies and commitments. On behalf of our great party and well-meaning Imolites who yearn for a better future, I bring you greetings and solidarity,” he concluded.
The convocation also featured a keynote lecture by Ven. Professor Sunday Iherue, Head of the Department of Religion, Peace and Conflict Studies, Imo State University, Owerri.
His paper, “The Place of Religious Studies in Promoting Ethical Values and the Rule of Law for Sustainable Development in Nigeria”, shed light on the urgent need to integrate faith-based education with civic responsibility in order to secure Nigeria’s future.
Accompanying the ADC State Chairman to the event were Chief MacDonald Amadi, the State Publicity Secretary; Mr. Chidiebere Ezinwa Nzerem, the Owerri Zonal Youth Leader; Mr. Ihezie Dede Walax, and other party stakeholders, reflecting the broad support and solidarity of the ADC family.
The African Democratic Congress once again reaffirms its stand: education, moral values, and ethical leadership are indispensable tools in rebuilding communities and advancing Nigeria toward sustainable development.
