Publisher of The Trumpet newspaper and immediate past Chairman of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, has declared his intention to represent the Ijaw, Isoko and Itsekiri ethnic nationalities in the Senate next year.
He made the declaration on his verified Facebook page on Friday night, saying: “Distinguished brothers and sisters, I know you must have been inundated with the rumour that I am contesting once again.
Yes, it is true, I am running to represent the amazing people of the Delta South Senatorial District at the National Assembly in Abuja.

The financial expert and chartered accountant was the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Isoko Federal Constituency in the 2019 general election, which was fiercely contested.
Joel-Onowakpo, was a one-time South-South State Coordinator, Federal Inland Revenue Services. He has also served as caretaker committee chairman, Isoko South Local Government Area. He holds the title of the Majidadin Kaigama Katsina.
