Veteran musician Jazzman Olofin has publicly addressed Afropop star Adekunle Gold regarding an incident at a concert in London, where Gold reportedly sampled Olofin’s classic track ‘Raise Da Roof’ without seeking permission.
In a lighthearted yet pointed Instagram post, Jazzman questioned why AG Baby chose to rehearse and perform the song with a full live band, despite it being 22 years old, without consulting him first.
He stated: “HA!!! WHAT’S GOING ON HERE? LOL. I have no problem with an artist briefly freestyling another artist’s song on stage as a sign of respect. That’s fine.”

However, he added: “BUT when you go thru a great length to actually rehearse my 22-year-old monster hit song (Raise Da Roof) with your one million man live band in preparation for your show/concert in London, haba… 9”
Jazzman highlighted that even though he may not be heavily involved in today’s music scene, he is still an active performer.
He made it clear that he expects to be compensated for his work, saying that “I might be a bit too old to sing your generation’s music, but I’m definitely not too old to earn your generation’s money.
“Mr. @adekunlegold, I’m still performing actively. Don’t beat around the bush. Next time, just reach out to me.”
