The much-anticipated final match of the Governor’s Cup took place at the football fields of the Federal College of Education, attracting government representatives, prominent figures, and supporters of the two outstanding teams from Yola North and Jada LGAs.

Commencing in February, the tournament provided all 21 LGAs in the state an opportunity to demonstrate their skills while being encouraged by their fans, all enthusiastic about their local squads aiming to secure the esteemed trophy.

In the end, following a commendable exhibition of talent from all the teams involved, Lamurde managed to achieve 3rd place.

He disclosed that the administration has successfully constructed three quality football pitches in each of the three geopolitical regions of the state. He also mentioned that there are plans in motion to facilitate similar advancements across 21 local government areas within the state.

He emphasized that the government is committed to doing everything necessary to promote talented youth, ensuring they gain recognition not just locally but also on national and global levels.
