Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has sparked reactions with her assertive remarks about single motherhood, achievement, and faith.
In her speech, she challenged societal stereotypes about single mothers, asserting that true success is defined by personal development, well-adjusted children, and stability, rather than marital status.
Iyabo Ojo shared her experience of raising her children alone at a young age, noting that her life has turned out better than many anticipated.
She attributed her success to her faith in God, resilience, and determination, while acknowledging that parenting often brings uncertainty, fatigue, and emotional challenges.
“There’s confusion among them. I consider myself the president-general of single mothers because my daughter has succeeded, my son has succeeded, and my life is thriving.

“Raising children at a young age can drive you to the brink. There were times I felt lost. If someone had told me I would own property in Lekki, I would have thought it was impossible. It’s not me; it’s God,” she expressed.
She also discussed relationships, emphasizing that both men and women make choices in marriage, and she expressed her respect for fathers who actively support their children.
“Men can leave you, and men can marry you. Women can leave you, and women can marry you. Trust in God, and you’ll see what He can do for you.
“I have a soft spot for fathers who take care of their kids,” she concluded.
