Actress Iyabo Ojo has spoken out about the threats to her life following a fire outbreak that damaged her office, emphasizing that she has never accused anyone of being responsible for the passing of musician Mohbad.
The actress took to her official Instagram account on Thursday to clarify her position after her daughter, Priscilla Ojo-Kbambala, suggested there might be foul play involved in the circumstances surrounding the fire outbreak.
In her post, Iyabo Ojo provided a timeline of her recent interactions with law enforcement and her advocacy for a thorough investigation into Mohbad’s untimely demise.
She detailed her invitation from the Nigeria Police Force, specifically the National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja, regarding various allegations stemming from a live video she recorded a few years prior.
In that video, she had urged certain individuals to come forward to aid in the investigation of Mohbad’s sudden passing, maintaining that this was intended to ensure their innocence could be established or disproven.
Iyabo Ojo went on to explain that her non-governmental organization, Pinkies Foundation, formally reached out to key government officials, including the Governor, Attorney General, and the Commissioner of Police, to request a comprehensive investigation and a coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death.
She underlined that these actions demonstrate her commitment to seeking justice rather than placing blame on specific individuals.
Furthermore, Iyabo Ojo described meetings with law enforcement authorities, including the former Commissioner of Police and members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, to emphasize the urgent need for a detailed inquiry into the situation.
She acknowledged that Mohbad’s family has also been subjected to police interviews, but she insisted she cannot dictate the conduct of the police’s investigation.

She expressed her dismay over ongoing threats to her life and her livelihood, which she believes stem partly from her outspoken political views.
She recounted receiving a threatening letter just days before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, indicating a specific timeline for potential violence against her.
Iyabo Ojo reflected on the toll this situation has taken on her emotionally and physically, stating that she has found solace in scripture during this challenging time. She firmly believes that her dedication to social justice and advocacy for her community has led to adversaries, which may have contributed to the current threats against her.
Throughout her statement, she reiterated that she has never accused anyone of wrongdoing regarding Mohbad’s death; rather, she has called for justice based on her emotional response to the shocking events and has sought the proper legal channels for redress.
She affirmed her readiness to cooperate with the police for any further inquiries, emphasizing her commitment to addressing these challenges head-on.
