Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has addressed the recent controversies in her life by announcing that she has taken a drug test, a decision she shared in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday.
She explained that the decision came after months of personal challenges and public scrutiny, a time she described as nearly overwhelming.
Daniels expressed that “the last few months have been incredibly heavy, like a season that weighs down on you and asks, what’s next?
“It has been a significant turning point that shook me deeply. Everything I once knew seemed to be slipping away.”
Despite the emotional strain, she credited her survival through this difficult time to the love and support from her family, friends, and the public.
“But here’s the twist…I didn’t succumb to it. Why? Because I was uplifted by immense love, support, patience, and understanding from my family, friends, and the public. I am eternally grateful for that.
“After much contemplation (and some lengthy self-reflection), I chose to take this test because I owe it to those who have stood by me, those who love me, and those who look up to me. Integrity is important. Accountability is important. Peace of mind is especially important,” the actress stated.
She noted that her decision to take the test was prompted by ongoing rumors labeling her as a drug addict, which she called unfounded and hurtful.
Daniels emphasized that the test was not merely about clearing her name, but also about accountability and ensuring peace of mind for those who admire her.
“One thing that resonated in the media was, ‘Regina is a drug addict.’ Honestly? I paused and reflected. I looked in the mirror repeatedly, searching for this so-called addict.

“I searched so hard it felt almost psychic…because surely, I must be missing something.
“That’s when it dawned on me! People often project their fears, insecurities, and negativity onto you. But projection is not reality, and noise is not truth.
“We all have a choice: Do we let others define us, or do we create our own story? For me, I always choose the latter. The same voices that tarnished my name will be the ones that help restore it,” Daniels added.
She described this period as one of self-discovery and growth, expressing gratitude to God for the strength and resilience she has gained.
“This chapter of my life is now focused on self-discovery, personal growth, and being more intentional about who I am and where I’m headed.
“I thank God endlessly for His grace, strength, and excellence in my life because if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that He has seen me through it all.
“I’m still standing, still growing, and just getting started. And yes… we move forward. To Happy New Year, everyone.”
The announcement comes amid intense public scrutiny of her marriage to billionaire businessman and lawmaker, Senator Ned Nwoko, which has reportedly deteriorated into a bitter estrangement.
In recent months, both parties have traded serious allegations.
Daniels had accused Sen. Nwoko of domestic abuse and of attempting to force her into rehabilitation, claiming at one point that members of her family were detained to pressure her into compliance.
