The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has expressed that he has no regrets about his public endorsement of President Bola Tinubu both before and after the 2023 presidential election.
Wike made the remark during a celebration at his Abuja home for his 58th birthday on Saturday.
He emphasized that his political position has been clear and unwavering since 2022.
The minister stated that his support for Tinubu was based on principles of character, integrity, fairness, and justice.
Wike noted that he was transparent about his views and believed that power should transition to the South at that time.
He reflected on being the only prominent figure from the opposition who openly backed Tinubu during the election campaign.
He pointed out that the election results in Rivers State demonstrated his leadership capabilities, as the APC won the presidential election there, while the PDP triumphed in other contests.

He remarked that criticism and insults do not deter him; rather, they inspire him to persevere.
The birthday event was attended by leaders from various political parties, including current and former lawmakers, local government chairpersons, and party officials.
Numerous speakers commended Wike, labeling him as bold, consistent, and influential in Nigerian politics. Some assured him of their ongoing loyalty and support.
The celebration concluded with special prayers for Wike and his family.
