Chief Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo ksm, popularly known as Malik and the Atanaru of Irri Kingdom, has officially resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). In a resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of Irri Ward 11 in Isoko South, Mr. Samson Afeme, Malik cited his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the need to align with progressive leadership of the All Progressive Party as key reasons for his departure.
Dated January 23, 2025, Malik’s letter highlighted his admiration for Tinubu’s leadership, describing the president as a courageous and visionary leader who has demonstrated the political will to reengineer Nigeria’s trajectory. Malik noted that the nation under Tinubu’s administration is undoubtedly on the path to recovery.

“Like none before him, Mr. President has demonstrated the courage and political willpower to reengineer the nation’s trajectory,” he wrote. While expressing gratitude for his 27-year journey with the PDP, Malik acknowledged the party’s role in offering him opportunities for service, leadership, and enduring friendships. However, he noted that his resignation was effective immediately.
