United Kingdom branch of Ewheyae Isoko Association of Nigeria (EIAN) has in a grand style marked its 30th anniversary. It is an association of Isoko women by birth or marriage.
The event which had different prominent and beautiful daughters of Isoko in the UK in attendance was held at the London Grand Palladium on Friday, 22nd July 2022.
A branch of EIAN, which was founded in 1982 by 10 women in Lagos, Nigeria, was established in the UK on 1992 by the late Mrs. Cecilia Osifeso. She was one of the ten founding mothers of the Association.
EIAN founding mothers shared a common goal, objective, vision, and value. EIAN, which has grown to be a global association with great impact, is described by many as an association that appreciates the worth of the ‘True Isoko Woman’ all over the world.
The theme of the 30th anniversary in the UK was ‘Celebrating the True Isoko Woman in the 21st Century’. The subject was carefully discussed and explored by different speakers, who enumerated the values of married women as well as their responsibility in a 21st-century era.
The event was colourful as dignitaries from far and near, UK-based community groups, Special Guests of Honour, leaders of thought, amiable husbands (the Ighelezas of EIAN), invited guests, and well-wishers, all turned out in style to make the event a memorable one.

Funds were raised for different humanitarian projects that the association will be embarking on.
A member of the association, Oyewo Ekelemu, who spoke after the close of the event said, the journey of EIAN so far has distinguished the association as a beacon of charity to the Isoko people and humanity.
According to her, it was a beautiful evening for the daughters of Isoko by birth and marriage.
She added: “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and this aptly describes the humble beginnings and the story of Ewheyae Isoko Association of Nigeria (EIAN), which was planted by the inspiration of ten women 40 years ago in 1982, in Lagos, Nigeria in the comfort of a friend’s front room. EIAN is a registered NGO and has many branches in Nigeria, Canada, USA and here in the UK.
“We will like to use this opportunity to thank all those who graced the occasion and thank God for the journey mercies granted to one and all thus far. God bless you all for your prayers, support, a generous contribution, and the various roles played to make the day a success. ”
