Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Warri, has reeled out his achievements in his first year in office.
As part of activities to mark his one year in office, the council boss empowered 55 women from the 11 wards in the council area with N200,000 each to boost their businesses.
Addressing newsmen at the council secretariat in Oleh, Warri, said he had, on assuming office, visited a bad spot on the Ogbemudia Road in Oleh, which has now been rehabilitated and is now motorable for commuters.
He stated that the Irri/Oyede Road, which was in bad shape, was fixed by his administration and is now 100 percent motorable.
Warri further said that the gate of the council secretariat was equally remodeled, noting that his administration remodeled the local government council chairman’s quarters with the state-of-the-art facilities.
“The administrative block building that was abandoned for over a decade was taken as a priority project by this administration.
“Today, work has started, and in the next couple of months, the project will be completed for commissioning”, he said.
The local government chairman also pointed out that his administration was able to tackle the cholera outbreak at Ikpide-Irri community.

He pointed out that one of the major cardinal points of his administration was agriculture, adding that “my administration deemed it fit to embark on profitable farming.
“As I speak to you, our pepper farm is doing well, and we have started harvesting.”
In the area of education, Warri said he had paid an unscheduled visit to some primary schools and “discovered that many teachers were not coming to work.
“We embarked on a screening process, and the report is ready. We also embarked on the distribution of notebooks to all primary schools in the local government area.”
He also said leadership tussles in some communities, notably in Igbide and Olomoro, were laid to rest with new leaderships put in place.
