The Chairman of the Isoko South local government area, Warri Friday, has urged residents and Isoko sons and daughters in the diaspora to participate en masse in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
Friday made the call on Tuesday, in Oleh, the headquarters of the local government area, when the Isoko Development Union (IDU) women’s wing Abuja branch paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The chairman urged individuals who had lost their permanent voter card or required a transfer of PVC, as well as those with defaced PVCs to take advantage of the ongoing process as elections draw near to elect leaders of their choice.
“I appreciate your visit and encouragement towards the betterment of the Isoko South local Government Area.
“I have taken note of your appeals. As chairman, I have certain limitations to my authority regarding appointments, empowerment, and employment, among others.
“But I must commend the unity among your purposes for the Isoko nation. I will meet other leaders to discuss what we can do collectively.
“However, take advantage of the ongoing voter registration because your voter card is your power and right to elect leaders of your choice as elections draw closer,” he stated

Earlier, President of the Isoko Development Union, Abuja branch, Mrs. Meg Okoro, stated that the visit was to express appreciation to the council chairman for his developmental strides in Isoko South and to appeal for him to do more for the Isoko South people.
“May we respectfully request that you establish a space for us within your administration to facilitate effective connection with the home front, thereby enabling us to collaborate and build upon the commendable initiatives your administration has undertaken
“We also respectfully request that you and your team partner with us to encourage women and youth in Abuja and other areas outside Isoko to support our efforts in facilitating full participation of our people in the ongoing voter registration,” she said.
