The Chairman Isoko North Local Government Council of Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba, on Thursday flagged off the measlle-rubella vaccination campaign in the local government area.
Ogorugba noted that measles and rubella are highly contagious but preventable diseases that continue to pose a serious threat to the lives and well-being of children.
The council chairman said it is based on this that his administration is committed to partner with the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, the World Health Organisation (WHO), and UNICEF, among others to safeguard the health and future of children.
He urged parents and guardians to avail their children between nine months to 14 years, regardless of previous vaccination status to visit the nearest vaccination post to be immunised, assuring that the vaccine is safe, effective and free of charge.

The council boss reiterated his commitment to supporting the 2026 measles-rubella campaign with adequate logistics, security and community mobilizations to protect and safeguard the future of children.
He appreciated the tireless efforts of health workers and partners for making the measles-rubella vaccination campaign a reality in the local government area.
