The Isoko Monitoring Group (IMG), a non-political group of professionals of Isoko extraction, has congratulated Prof. Samuel Aghalino on his recent appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba.
The group thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, for the choice of the Isoko-born academic.
A statement signed by Oke Aziakpono, president, and Kingsley Oroh, spokesman of the group, extolled Prof. Aghalino as a visionary leader, excellent academic and development-focused individual.
“We appreciate Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s confidence in Prof. Aghalino’s abilities and look forward to his leadership, which will undoubtedly bring renewed focus to academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
“His appointment is a testament to his dedication to the advancement of education and his commitment to serving the greater good of Delta state and beyond”, the IMG noted in its statement.

The group expressed appreciation to Gov. Oborevwori, noting that the choice of Prof. Aghalino is spot on as “he is well-suited to drive positive change.
“His proven track record, strong administrative skills, and commitment to development make him an ideal fit for this role.”
Prof. Aghalino was appointed vice chancellor of DOU in March to succeed Prof. John Oghojafor.
Prof. Aghalino an experienced academic, previously served as a professor of history at the University of Ilorin and was a former president of the Historical Society of Nigeria.
He is expected to enhance the institution’s research profile, academic leadership, and overall development.
Prof. Aghalino is a native of Owhelogbo in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
