Iran’s foreign minister has described Donald Trump’s warning that the US would intervene if peaceful protesters were harmed as “reckless and dangerous.”
Abbas Araghchi made these remarks following Trump’s statement that the US would “come to their rescue” of demonstrators protesting Iran’s economic situation, declaring on social media, “we are locked and loaded and ready to go.”
Araghchi suggested that Iran’s military is prepared and “knows exactly where to aim” should an attack occur.

As of Saturday morning, reports indicate that at least eight individuals have died during the week-long protests.
On Friday, Trump stated: “If Iran shoots and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue.”
However, he did not clarify what actions the US might take.
The US has previously conducted strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which led to retaliatory actions against a US base in Qatar.
