The Ebonyi State Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of some of Governor Francis Nwifuru’s appointees, urging an urgent cabinet reshuffle or outright dissolution to ensure effective governance. This call was made during IPAC’s annual media engagement, where the council assessed the governor’s 19 months in office and offered constructive recommendations for improvement.
In a communiqué delivered by IPAC Chairman, Comrade Nasir Nwaze, the council criticized the lackluster performance of certain appointees, suggesting they either lack the capacity to fulfill their responsibilities or are overwhelmed by their duties. IPAC stressed the need for Governor Nwifuru to enforce stricter supervision and accountability measures to guarantee efficient governance and judicious use of public resources.
Highlighting slow progress on key projects, such as the Vanco Flyover, capital city streets, and two-kilometer road schemes, IPAC urged the administration to expedite construction efforts, particularly in public-access areas. The council acknowledged the commendable aspects of the 2024 budget’s implementation but emphasized the importance of improving the practical execution of the 2025 budget.
IPAC also praised the governor’s “People’s Charter of Needs” program, noting its positive impact across Ebonyi State. However, the council called for thorough investigations into the implementation of empowerment schemes targeting vulnerable groups, especially in rural areas.

Addressing security, IPAC lauded Governor Nwifuru’s proactive measures to maintain peace and order but urged sustained efforts to combat emerging security threats. The council also highlighted the importance of proper oversight to ensure public projects meet their intended objectives and genuinely benefit citizens.
Infrastructural development, including two-kilometer road constructions, housing schemes, and improvements in health and education, received commendation from the council. IPAC also expressed appreciation for the administration’s focus on social welfare programs, such as housing schemes for traditional rulers, youth empowerment, and promoting women’s participation in governance, recognizing their inclusive nature across political divides.
The council reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the government and stakeholders to ensure Ebonyi State achieves a prosperous, secure, and inclusive future under Governor Nwifuru’s leadership. Despite highlighting areas needing improvement, IPAC acknowledged the governor’s numerous achievements in his 19 months in office and pledged continued support for his administration’s vision.
