The Italian football giant, Juventus said the investigations into the financial transactions of the club have formally ended.

Juventus in an official statement disclosed that the investigation resulted from rumours about the club manipulating its account figures to portray their financial status in a false light.

Also, the Manchester United returnee Cristiano Ronaldo, who was sold by Juventus to the Premier League side in 2021, was included in the investigation that has finally been laid to rest.

Juventus in a statement on their official website said, “Juventus Football Club S.P.A. (“Juventus” or the “Company”) informs that tonight it has received, together with 10 other Italian football companies and respective senior managers, a ‘Notice of conclusion of the investigations’ from the Federal Prosecutor’s Office before the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) with regard to the valuation of the effects of certain transfers of players’ rights on the financial statements and the accounting of gains, following the ‘segnalazione’ (report) by Co.Vi.So.C., for the postulated breach of article 31, paragraph 1, and articles 6 and 4 of the Sports Justice Code.

“The communication notified, concerning certain transfers completed in the financial years 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21, does not constitute the exercise of the disciplinary action by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office.

“The Company will now have access to the records and articulate its defenses in accordance with the terms set forth in the code and trusts it will be in a position to demonstrate the correctness of its conduct,” they added.

Prior to this, the Italian police authorities had visited Juventus’ offices at Milan and Turin after receiving information that they were falsifying the club’s account records. The police raided the offices and took away certain documents to aid their investigation.

However, Juventus kept on maintaining their innocence in all of this imbroglio while giving the investigative organ all the necessary assistance it needed to perfect the conclusion of the investigation.

It can be recalled that Juventus had previously been found guilty in a disgraceful Calciopoli scandal which caused the club their Serie A title and were also relegated to Serie B.
