Oyoko-Abavo community in Ika South LGA of Delta State, has launched a new security outfit known as the Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS), Abavo unit to check the increasing rate of insecurity especially kidnapping in the area.
The body was inaugurated by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Abavo Divisional Headquarters, Supol Akawe Ogorchukwu Abraham (SP), who officially inaugurated the new security outfit and charged them to work in line with laid down rules.
The newly commissioned security outfit were commended for the bold step to serve their community voluntarily.
At the event, sons and daughters of the community at home and in diaspora were advised to encourage the security outfit with necessary tools and money to carry out their task.

The inaugural ceremony re-enforces the need to curb the rising cases of insecurity bedeviling communities across the nation and the need to secure the forests as recently directed by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
A community leader and a patriot of Oyoko Community, SP Austin Igheghe (Rtd) while addressing the newly recruited NFSS Volunteers charged them to perform their duties with all sense of responsibilities in line with established code of conduct guiding the Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS).
